- BSN or appropriate bachelor’s degree from a regionally/institutionally accredited four-year college or university in the U.S.
- Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse
- Prerequisite courses:
- Anatomy & Physiology I (or its equivalent)
- Anatomy & Physiology II (or its equivalent)
- Microbiology
- Chemistry, Biochemistry or Organic Chemistry (at least one course in chemistry is required for admission)
- These science courses are within most undergraduate bachelor’s degrees. If any of these courses have not been taken or included as part of an applicant’s undergraduate degree, the course(s) must be taken prior to consideration for admission.
- Prerequisite courses must be completed at a US university or college that holds institutional accreditation from one of the seven primary regional accrediting organizations recognized in the US.
- Programs and courses must be directly accredited by one of these primary institutional accreditors to fulfill prerequisite requirements—even if they are affiliated with, partnered with, or offer credit through an accredited institution.
- For example, the following programs do not satisfy our prerequisite requirements:
- Portage Learning (through Geneva College)
- University of California San Diego Extended Studies Program
- Sophia Learning
- Always verify accreditation directly with the institution offering the course, as many extension, online-only, or third-party programs do not meet this standard despite any partnerships or credit recommendations.
- Official GRE scores submitted in NursingCAS
- Minimum of one year experience in critical care, two years are recommended
- Certification in BLS and ACLS
- CCRN exam score sheet
- CCRN certificate or AACN letter of certification
- CV or resume
- Three professional recommendations, one from a current supervisor
- Shadowing Experience Form
- Work History Verification Form
- Kira Online Talent Assessment
- Personal interview with the faculty admissions committee (if invited). Interviews will be conducted in person on TCU's campus during the week of July 27 - 31, 2026.
Due to the nature of the curriculum, courses outside of TCU are not transferrable, nor to be used in lieu of courses in the School of Nurse Anesthesia Curriculum.
